The strike announced by the Labor Union of Antamina (SUTRACOMASA) was launched today. At this moment, the strike takes place peacefully and is partially obeyed.

Activities are being developed normally in our offices in Lima and Huaraz. In our operations located in San Marcos and Huarmey, the tasks are being carried out according to plan, and within the framework of a contingency plan. The company has focused efforts in order to maintain the productive rhythm. Those who abide by the strike, do so without interrupting the work of those who are fulfilling their normal work.

Antamina reiterates its willingness to dialogue and calls the SUTRACOMASA Union Leaders to reflection. The reason for the strike is lower profit sharing, which is variable income that is distributed following conditions established by law. Profits are linked to several factors, including international market prices and the annual production of a company.

It is important to note that the latest collective agreement signed with the Union is valid and in full compliance. The above-mentioned agreement expires in July 2015. No agreement or labor law has been breached by Antamina.
