At Antamina we produce different mineral concentrates, primarily copper and zinc, in addition to molybdenum, silver and lead which are obtained as a by-product of the production process.
Copper forms an extensive group of alloys which have mechanical properties despite having lower electrical conductivity. Copper is a durable metal since it benefits from being able to be recycled almost indefinitely without losing its mechanical properties. The most well-known copper alloys are bronze or brass.
Copper demand tends to keep growing because this metal is present in almost every technological component and everything indicates that this trend will continue to grow in the foreseeable future. This is evident in many industries such as: transportation, construction, the media and information technology, the environment and energy. As a result of the foregoing, we at Antamina seek to contribute to our country and the world with the production of this metal.
