The mission of the Warehouses Area is to ensure replacement, storage and timely distribution in optimal quantity and quality, of all inventory materials required by internal users of the company and to deliver direct purchase materials and equipment within the safety and environmental standards that have been established by Compania Minera Antamina S.A.

The Antamina warehouse has been considered as being world class, reaching the highest standards in the business.

The main logistics functions of the warehouse area are:

• Inventory Control
• Storage
• Distribution

 

Inventory Control:

A team of Inventory Analysts has the mission of making sure of the timely replacement in optimal quantity and quality and the most effective financial conditions, of articles, spare parts and materials of the general inventory. They work in close coordination with internal clients, defining purchase needs. They are committed to contributing to a low production cost, keeping and appropriate inventory level.

Storage:

Logistics team members who are in charge of keeping materials in good state of repair and use in our warehouses under strict Safety and Environmental protection norms. We have three locations that serve each of our main operations and they are: Truck Shop Warehouse, Concentrator Warehouse and Port Warehouse, which have a roofed infrastructure of 5,000 m2 and approximately 20,000 m2 of yards for storage. Personnel work with the aim of achieving zero accidents in material handling and practice safety and a way of life. Warehouse personnel receive all materials that are purchased for our operations.

Distribution:

Warehouse personnel are in charge of distributing the material to internal clients by means of dispatch and to our external clients by shipping bagged concentrate in trucks.

To use this type of transportation, the transporting company must be duly qualified for the work and must have the approval of an audit that ensures safe transportation.
