Community Development

Antamina represents a renewed effort in the philosophy and practices of social responsibility. The company works intensively with the communities and towns within its sphere of influence by establishing community development programs with an emphasis on sustainable development.

In its operating communities, Antamina has developed infrastructure essential for its operation which also benefit the nearby population: a paved access highway, electrical lines to interconnect towns within its area, and fiber optic cable parallel to the pipeline, which makes it easier for Telefónica del Perú to extend its telecommunications services to the Huaylas and Conchucos areas.

Under its social responsibility policy, Antamina offers support and ongoing training in productive activities, health and education to surrounding communities. With its neighbors, it works collaboratively and transparently to improve living conditions and to demonstrate that mining is an activity that brings many benefits. Our short-, medium- and long-term programs enable us to bring technology and well-being to areas that traditionally have been forgotten and which now view the future with greater optimism.
