The Contingency and Emergency Plan is a management tool that defines objectives, strategies and programs to prevent and reduce risks, respond to emergencies, and take restoration action if a disaster occurs, making it possible to minimize bodily injuries and property or environmental damages resulting from human activities or natural disasters.
Antamina has a Contingency Plan or Emergency Response Plan in place, describing the organization of employees and equipment and the procedures to be followed if an emergency occurs.
The main objectives of this Plan are summarized below:
Identify and assess potential risks during the conduct of operations;
Analyze the possible results of an emergency in order to develop response plans;
Provide emergency response procedures.

Identify and correct dangerous conditions involving hazardous wastes;
Make all employees aware of the dangers associated with hazardous materials at work;
Respond to a spill;
Provide preventive maintenance to avoid mechanical breakdowns;
Carry out emergency response drills at all company levels;
Evaluate failures and lessons learned to develop an action plan that eliminates the basic causes of incidents;
Seek permanent innovation to update training plans and programs.
This Plan is regularly reviewed and updated and applies to all employees, visitors and strategic partners whenever they are inside on company property and to people involved in our activities.
